Scroogled

by Cory Doctorow

"Give me six lines written by the most honorable of men, and I
will find an excuse in them to hang him." —Cardinal Richelieu

"We don't know enough about you." —Google CEO Eric Schmidthttp://www.scroogle.org/doctorow.html

Google is not a benign force. Scroogle doesn’t track your search queries, unlike Google. Scroogle erases the IP address assigned to your computer, unlike Google.

For some queries, we recommend Scroogle.

If you are not comfortable with people knowing that you searched for symptoms of some venereal disease, kinky porn, suicidal methods, blue politics, red politics, some pariah’s biography, some dissident like Trotsky or downloads -- use Scroogle. But also learn about the creepiness of Gmail.

Two blogs written about the project. The  San Antonio Current and The Freeway Blogger.

Please visit Esperanza’s Web site. Esperanza is a collective of activists here in San Antonio; these people show movies, educate our city and organize opposition.

And please visit The Current’s Web site for information about nuclear plant expansion in San Antonio.
